I agree the store is nice with great selection but my issue is with their customer service.I had a very VERY bad experience with owner Allison Moss: I purchased a $60 bracelet that broke after a week. I wanted a refund but when I went back, store owner Leah insisted to have the designer fix it saying it probably was a defect since no other customer had had issues. “Fine” I guessed, even though I am used to the ‘this is the first time it ever happened’ line being b/s.Once I got it back after over two months, it broke again after couple times wearing it.Since I don’t live in the neighborood it took me a while to return to the store I admit, but when I did I was treated in a less than professional manner by the other sister -Allison Moss. She pretty much implied I was cheap and unreasonnalbe to expect a “60$ bracelet that Gucci Outlet Handtaschen isn’t fine jewelry” to last, morever to get fixed another time. She told me she could not care less if I would not shop at her store again since I wasn’t a regular anyways.I am extremely disappointed in the way the issue was handled and won’t shop there ever again. I am very surprised they are still in business treating customers so badly. That could explain why the store is always empty…
My favorite little boutique in LA to go to – great for me, and the best for presents for other people! They carry current and affordable items which makes it not to be missed. Most of my Christmas shopping is done here. Ally & Leah are both amazing ladies and so helpful in helping decide what to get!
In a word: UH-DOR-A-BUL! And now for a few more…It’s stores like this that make me glad I live in Studio City. Seriously, I’ve called places like the East side, the Valley side, the Mid side (wait, there is no Mid side?) and pretty much all of Hollywood home for my 33 years on this planet, but after strolling in here this afternoon, it felt like coming home…but to a really cool and hip one….in the 818! I had heard rumblings about this cute store from that Richard C Chanel Handbags Designer character and for the last month or two I’ve been trying to get over here to check it out, but to no avail. Today, however, was finally the day!As soon as I walked in I was greeted by a warm smile and a really cool sense of enthusiasm by Allison. She was super helpful right off the bat and like a giddy little kid in a candy store (literally, because they sell candy, but more on that later!), she walked me back to look at the neat new holiday PJs they just got in. All super cute!I then noticed a burgundy bag that literally made my mouth water (seriously, you should watch this happen to me in public, it ain’t cute!) and from behind me, Leah (the owner) says, “Isn’t that the most amazing color!” Indeed it was. We then started chatting and quickly realized that we in fact went to school together, along with a friend of hers who happened to be in the store and it was a total Studio City elementary school/junior high reunion moment. This, of course, added to the fun of my experience here, but even if you didn’t know these girls, they are so incredibly friendly and welcoming that after 30 seconds in here you will feel like their store is your store and feel free to get comfy and explore everything in it.Now let’s talk about everything in it. First of all, there’s the jewelry. Holy hell, some of the cutest stuff I have seen in a very long time. Adorable pendants, rings, funky bracelets and earrings. Then there are the purses. I already fondled and drooled all over the burgundy one (sorry about that ladies), but they also have a wide variety of unique and stylish handbags and clutches that will make just about any outfit sing. ?Another highlight were the greeting cards. I pride myself on being a smart ass and so when I find cards that say sweet, Hallmarky stuff like, “You’ve just had a baby…time to start drinking” and “Hey, just ’cause I forget everything doesn’t mean I don’t love you. It just means I’m a dick,” well all I can say is, “Sold!”And finally the candy bins. I was so taken with the overall look of the place and the shiny objects chanting my name, that I didn’t even notice the elaborate candy bins at the front of the store when I first walked in. But once I did, wow, so cute and so original! Much like almost every piece in this store. I can’t say enough about how cute this place is and with the holidays coming up, you are set if you stroll on in here. Yay, can’t wait to blow a nice big chunk of my paycheck here soon!
It’s 2001: A Space Odyssey meets Willy Wonka meets your loca Nike Free Run 2 Menl beauty supply.It’s Mimi & Hy – the shoppe.Ok, so first things first. ?Full disclosure. ?The owner of the store Silver Jewelry, Leah Moss, is an ex-girlfriend from a few years ago, so I just wanted to come clean. ?But with that said, had this place been a retail disaster, I would have kept my Yelp mouth shut. ?But it’s not. ?Let me tell you…it’s anything but a disaster. ?And coming from a guy’s perspective, this is saying a lot. ?From the moment you step into the store, you realize you’re not in your garden variety apothecary shop. ?Mimi & Hy’s design is simple, chic and retro. ?I call it mid-century, modern, space age. ?It’s just a beautifully designed store with complete forethought in everything they’ve done. ?Whether it’s the staggered candy bins, at the front of the store, filled with all sorts of sugar fixes, including imported candy from Dylan’s Candy Bar in New York City or the neatly organized shelves and racks of product and clothing, this store has done it right. ?Simply put…classy.Mimi & Hy is a pampered girls dream store. ? It has a small but decent selection of shoes, purses and lingerie while having a great and varied selection of jewelry, candles and sweet-smelling apothecary products. ?They represent brands like Malin & Goetz, L.A.M.B., Kale and Missoni. ?But beyond the lines you get the product knowledge of both Leah and her sister, Allison. ?They have as much passion for the lines they carry as I do for my NBA team….and while shopping is mostly a personal and visceral experience it never hurts to have someone helping you with an informed opinion. ?It’s definitely not your usual retail shopping experience where most stores are looking for customers — Leah and Allison are looking for clients. ?Mimi & Hy is not necessarily a girls only store, but most of the merchandise caters towards the ladies. ?As far as us dudes are concerned this is the place to find that perfect gift for your girl. ?You know how it goes…it’s Valentines Day, her birthday or the day after the night you came home late without calling. ?You’ll definitely find the right item that’ll put a smile on her face.All in all, this is one place you’ll go back to over and over again…if not for the service, for the selection. ?I honestly couldn’t be more proud in personally knowing the owners of “the shoppe.”
Mimi & Hy is very cool find for the valley and even as just as a concept. Its sort a confectionery meets apothecary and is a great place to find a gift for that ‘girl who has everything.” I really love the clean retro feel and they have a very interesting mix of designers- everything from exotic candles by Agent Provocateur to Missoni shoes, flirty spanx lingerie and kinky sex toys. And yes I did mention sex toys… Jimmy Jane is a line they carry out of London. Store co-owner Allison explained that the line stems from a private club in London that is extremely coveted. More importantly there product line features a very sophisticated and line of “classy” masks, oils and vibrators. Did I mention they carry a 24k one (retails $350) that has hand etchings, it is completely silent and I guess they guarantee the motor for a lifetime?hmmmmm…. I think I might be back

They moved! I never visited the store when they were by the cheese shop further down Ventura, and outside of the diehard fans, they didn’t get much foot traffic. Now they are a few doors down from Maxwell Dog, smack in the middle of the action on Ventura. This is a great place to browse for unique gifts, scents and cute lingerie. Their candle collection is amazing. I found a sleep mask, an awesome black candle, and a gift-wrapped birthday present for a friend. The best part about the place is that the staff makes everyone feel welcome. There’s such a great vibe here, check it out!
Love coming in here and seeing what’s new. ?The sisters that own this place have a knack for selecting one of kind items. ?Love their jewelry, jammies, and array of cute flats they carry. ?I’m a sucker for a great candle and they have a wide selection. ?If I’m ever in the market for a new bracelet this is your shop to stop.
Just a quick update on this amazing little place— I went in yesterday to browse and the adorable owners, Alli and Leah, told me they lowered the price of their Voluspa candles because of my yelp review! So now there is officially nothing but goodness and sweetness and sexiness in this fantastic little V-Blvd gem. They really do have the best gifts and they wrap everything quickly, so if you are ever on your way out the door and realize you might be the person showing up empty handed- stop in here for a candle or something to be safe. *support local business*, shop at mimi and hy! Remember, the Valley is the new Brentwood.
LOVE IT!The sisters were personable, sociable and very helpful. Their taste in clothes and jewelry are tasteful. It’s a sweet boutique with lots of love and care. Would visit more often if they had a few brands that are somewhat affordable – more variations. Thumb up ladies!

The store is FABULOUS. Ally and Leah, the two owners (who are sisters) are the nicest gals and they make you feel exceptionally welcomed and comfortable. This store definitely pays attention to the details of the products they sell – every item is unique. They have gorgeous handmade jewelry, amazing spa items (like candles, soaps, lotions, etc). Everything is very high-quality. They also have a cute collection of sandals. The jewelry, again, is very unique and wearable. Any piece of jewelry from this store makes an outfit. Everything in the store, whether for yourself or for a gift Body jewelry, will surely impress. Gift wrapping is beautiful and the two sisters go out of their way to make your shopping experience wonderful. I came in for last minute gifts for work and they saved my day! They knew exactly what would work and put a huge order together very quickly. I’m definitely going back again and again!

What a great find today – I have a new favorite shop. ?Mimi & Hy is a wonderful little gem of a boutique on Ventura Boulevard in Studio City. Allsion (one of two sisters who own the store) is so personable. She not only redefines customer service, but makes you feel as if you are a long lost friend. The merchandise is incredibly unique, while being absolutely beautiful and obtainable. From candles to candy, jewelry to lingerie and more, do yourself a favor and stop by. You’ll be glad that you did. Just save the taupe cashmere and silk scarf for me…

This is a small little jewelry shop at the corner of 7th and Spring. They also make copies of keys. This place was suggested by the SB Main over Home Depot for keys. The cute old grandpa made copies for my apartment and amenities keys in under 15 minutes and they worked perfectly. $1.50 each for the keys. I skipped out on making the copy of my mailbox key but for anyone else it would have been about $2.50.Might I add that I had a drunken 21st birthday and lost my first set of keys within the first week of having them Body jewelry! I went back and got keys made again. Same price and they still work perfectly fashion jewelry!

Love this place, they have SO much fun jewelry! You do have to sort through the junk, and the music they play is terrible; but aside from that you can find some really cute jewelry. If you’re like me and you want something to go with an outfit or just want trendy items that are budget friendly, this is your place. Most of the pieces are $7-12, and I get compliments when I wear them all the time. The value is good, the only reason I won’t give Glitterati 5 stars is because the pieces do tend to break easily. I’d put them in the same category as Forever 21. This place is worth checking out.
Buyer beware! I had a watch battery replaced here, $10 charge, great. After I left I noticed that a trim piece on one of the numerals on the face of the watch had become dislodged and was way out of place under the crystal. ?I went back to the store and nicely told them I thought this had happened as a result of the battery replacement. ?Their response, “It’s not our fault.” I wasn’t angry or abusive — I just wanted it fixed. ?They fixed it but charged another $10 to do so. ?Very bad customer service!!! I would never go back here.
THIS PLACE IS OVERRATED LADIES!!!The first time I saw Gliterati I thought it was a dream come true. ?But the more I’ve shopped there, the more I realize that it’s just SO NOT WORTH IT. ?Things are way overpriced & too sparkly for my taste. ?I can find better & cheaper jewelry at places like Forever 21 or H&M. ?I guess if you’re a UCLA student & don’t have a car, nor want to take the bus to the mall then I can understand why you would shop here. Otherwise, stay away my friends…stay far, far away.
This place needs to die! Put it out of it’s misery Wholesale Costume Jewelry! ?I went in there because I have a special occasion to go to ,and I wanted some costume jewelry and GLOVES. ?Yes, gloves. ?You find GLOVES at an accessories store. ?All the jewelry is displayed on hooks and EVERYTHING is oxidizing/ tarnishing because if being out. (It should be in packages until someone wants to buy it, so it can be shiny still, and NOT BLACK)Why is everything $29.99? ?$39.99. $19.99. ?I mean everything.Went in and was in there for about 15 – 20 minutes. ?The guy that worked there was on the phone the entire time helping a customer with his watch (they do watch repair apparently, which seems to have taken over the place), and NEVER EVER acknowledged me. “Can I help you?” ?”I’ll be right with you” is all it takes.This place is a waste of space and needs to be removed from Westwood permanently.C R A P O L A!
I can’t help but rave about this place. ?Yea, it has some cheap baubles and beads…but there are also so many novelties in here that you cannot find anywhere else. ?I found the cutest daisy ring. ? It overwhelms my finger, but it’s so me, so I absolutely love it. ?It’s amazing!!

Cool little jewelry shop that I definitely need to investigate further!I came in here mostly because I needed a watch battery replaced. ?They did it for $8 and change (tax and battery included) in under five minutes, with very pleasant service. ?While they were working on my watch, I wandered around the store awhile. ?It’s basically full of stuff you might find at F21, Claire’s, etc (cheap and flashy but still cute), with a few nicer items thrown in. ?I did see a table of sterling silver rings for about $20 each, as well as a display case with a small collection of gold items. ?Prices seemed to be a little high Silver Jewelry, but if you didn’t have a car and/or don’t feel like making the trek to the mall to buy possibly poisonous costume jewelry from your favorite mass retailer, this is definitely a good option. ?Also a great place to get your watch battery replaced!
The word “subtle” is not in Glitterati’s dictionary. Seriously, I have seen flares and road sings less eye-catching than some of this stuff. So of course I love it! It is, like all truly good jewelry, all fake. Rhinestones and CZ everywhere, and even more plastic on top of all that. For what it is, the price is okay, not fabulous, but — oooh Body jewelry, lookit! ?a pink and green cocktail ring bigger than most cell phones! ?Alternate purpose for Glitterati: drag your man there to test for True Wuv.
This place is next to UCLA.Lots of cute selections of earrings, necklaces, bracelets, toe rings, hair clips, etc. ?I see it as … a Costco for jewelry. ?Unfortunately, I am allergic to fake jewelry, so I am limited in my choices. ?Forunately, they have a small section of 14kt gold, and sterling silver jewelry in the back with really cute earrings and the like. ?I got a lot of cute things here. ?Worth checking out.[stars and comments are subject to change with each visit (^_^) ]
It’s an okay store. lots of selection but…a lot of the stuff just looks really cheap. the store recently changed though, so it looks a lot cleaner and organized so it’s easier to go through the stuff.the owner though is nice. i was a penny short and she let me buy a ring without having all the money there. good place to go if you don’t really want nice jewelry and accessories…just something quick maybe for a party or event, and happen to be in the area.
my gosh! how this place sparkles! I walked by this place on my way to Urban Outfitters on Westwood and spent all my money i was planning to use at Urban. The store has every accessory a girl could ever want without emptying your wallet, if you have any self-control. Its like a crack store for college aged girls. BEWARE!!!!

Ditto with what Dorothy said. All this stuff is shipped over from Asia, it has been at least tripled in price here. I have only bought one thing from here out of desperation because I forgot to buy a hair accessory for a dance I was going to and I regretted it soo much. I couldn’t return a crappy gaudy hair clip that was soo heavy from the rhinestones and decorative metal that it couldn’t stay up in my hair, it just slid right out. I also see a lot of the stuff has rhinestones missing. The only thing this place has going for it is its location, its close to UCLA, so it helps with last minute accessorizing.

Wow! Wow! I had no idea where to look to get a ring resetted. My mom gave my fiance and I my great grandmother’s ring to use for my engagement ring and we couldn’t have been happier. I was originally set in yellow gold, but we wanted it in white gold.At first I just googled jewelry places in Los Angeles and I randomly clicked on one. It lead me to 550 S. Hill Street. I then realized that they have many jewelry stores on the weekends open to the public. So we started on the 5th floor and just randomly went in to one. That being Bridal Diamond Palace.Right off the bat, Neil Gennaoui, greeted us and already I felt comfortable. We showed him the ring, he examined it and unfortunately he did tell us there was a chip in the center diamond, but it wasn’t anything he couldn’t deal with. He showed us a bunch of rings and even told me that he could email me a design before he engraved it if I wanted that. After at least about an hour or so he wrote down all the info that we liked and our rings sizes. My fiance even found a ring that he liked for his band. We then decided that we would shop around more, but Neil told us whenever we make a decision to come back. A few weeks later…Today…we came back a few hours ago from Bridal Diamond Palace and FINALLY chose a ring for me. Neil again, helped us in choosing so and made sure our diamond would go perfectly with the setting we liked. My fiance like the band of one ring and I liked the head of a different ring so that is what we got. He even let us use the gold ring as credit toward our new ring and gave me all the diamonds to take home right away. I would recommend anyway to come here. We actually went to a different place on the same floor and the lady hardly helped us except say bad things about my great grandmother’s ring. At Bridal Diamond Palace, they make you feel comfortable, they make sure what you want is what you really want and they work with you.Thanks Neil!
This is my 2nd review for Bridal Diamond Palace. After being so very happy with my engagement ring I had made for me, I went back for my wedding band(s) and my fianc��’s wedding band. Nicholas did such a wonderful job getting me exactly what I wanted and helping my fiance pick a ring that was just right. ?Nicholas also gave me a great deal. Once again I paid in cash, which got me an even better deal! I will continue to go to Bridal Diamond Palace for hopefully may rings to come Thank you Bridal Diamond Palace for giving my my dream ring!

I received the most beautiful diamond engagement ring from Bridal Diamond Palace at a great deal !!! It is more spectacular than my fianc�� or I ever imagined. Nicolas was very helpful and creative in designing the ring that my fianc�� was interested in. ?I live in the bay area and Nicolas was recommended to me. He was able to create the ring based off of pictures and many phone conversations. ? Nicolas was knowledgable about diamonds and brought in many loose diamonds for us to choose from when we visited him. Unfortunately, despite these other reviews, you cannot trust these guys. ?Nicholas flat out lied to me, telling me things that even the diamond certification refuted — like a diamond with a 63% table is a “very good” cut. They make it a very nice and cordial experience, but if they think they can sell you something that is crap and pass it off as something much more valuable, they will. ?Do your homework. ?Better yet, find a jeweler you can trust. Stay away from this place.
